Hizaiwah

The site is located along the road connecting the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain with Ras Al Khaimah, just a few kilometres from the Ed-Dur archaeological site. It was discovered in 2013, and the first test excavation trench, measuring 5 × 5 metres, was opened in January 2014.

The archaeological finds revealed the significance of the site. Based on the chronological analysis of the artefacts and comparisons with similar sites, it can be concluded that the Hizaiwah Site is contemporary with Tell Abraq and dates back to the third millennium BC. Discoveries include soft-stone vessels, pottery dating to the third millennium BC, various types of beads, rings, arrowheads, and bronze and iron needles.

Excavations are still ongoing and are expected to reveal further information about the site's historical and archaeological significance.
