Mreished Tomb

Discovered by chance in 1997, Mreished Tomb resembles tombs dating to the second millennium BC in its layout. It is shaped like a horseshoe or the letter “U” and consists of two burial levels, an upper and a lower level, with an entrance on the eastern side.

Several decorated vessels, along with stone vessels and lids made of steatite, were discovered at the site, in addition to beads and other small artefacts.

The tomb was excavated by the local team of the Department of Antiquities and Heritage in collaboration with the Department of Antiquities and Tourism in Al Ain.
