Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development and Sheikh Mohammed bin  Khalid Al Nahyan Center, The UAE Cultural Day in Kuwait Celebrates  Creativity and Thought

In association with the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development and Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Culture and Creativity Words Platform in Kuwait organized the events of the UAE cultural day at the theater of National Library of Kuwait.

The activities of the UAE Cultural Day included a symposium entitled " Woman Embraces Culture", in participation with  Dr. Rafe'a Ghabash. This symposium focused on the woman's role in culture, in general , on the Arab and humanitarian  levels, as well as the leading role of the Emirati women in embracing the national and community cultural effort, based on the support of our wise leadership, who has  qualified the woman to occupy the highest positions of authority and decision making in the Emirati model. This symposium also addressed the backgrounds of this role and the mechanism for promoting thereof in response to the requirements of sustainability of the cultural renaissance in the UAE. The second symposium was entitled "From One Thousand and One Nights to the Metamorphosis by Kafka: How has translation affected our worlds?". Sultan Al Emaimi, the Emirati researcher and novelist participated in this symposium, where he addressed the significance of translation, its impact on  identification of the features of cultural characters of the peoples and its role in promoting the communication between cultures and building of bridges and platforms of joint human understanding, as well as the problematic issues it poses in respect of translation process and the translator's role in respect of honesty, scientific sobriety and the innovative creative aspect.

The third symposium in this event was entitled "Reality of the Emirati Novel", in which the storyteller / Saliha Obaid, the novalist / Nadia Al Najjar and the writer / Ali Al Sha'aly participated. This symposium focused on the Emirati novel and the recent developments in the Emirati narration, in  light of the changes in life and reality, stylistic problems, narrative purposes and the novelistic plot in view of the increasing growth of the landscape of creativity in novel in the UAE.

The events of the UAE Cultural Day also included a poetry reading, in which the Emirati poet / Ahmad Al Asem and the poet / Amal Al Sahlawy presented an exquisite dialogue poem, which highlighted the creativity of both poets and the most important stages in the poetic experience of each of them.
