Ministry Of Culture Releases 10 New Books As Part Of The “Book Purchase And Promotion” Service For 2017

The Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development activates the "Book Purchase and Promotion" service with more than 3000 copies of 10 new books by Emirati authors, reflecting its keenness to support and sponsor cultural talents and innovators. This comes in line with the Ministry’s strategic objectives including raising the level of cultural awareness among the members of society, promoting the skills of talented people, investing in the potentials of the UAE youth, in addition to providing rich cultural content enriched with the Arabic language, heritage and UAE values, and supporting Emirati writers. “ The Ministry, through the "Book Purchase and Promotion" service, aims to encourage creative nationals by buying and publishing their works and then displaying the works in public libraries affiliated with the ministry, libraries of cultural attachés of the UAE embassies abroad and departments and bodies inside the UAE. This will in turn contribute to the publication and distribution of UAE books, in addition to introducing intellectual production talking about the UAE by Emirati and Arab writers. “, said Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Director of Government Communication Department at the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development. Al-Naimi added that the selected books cover a diversity of topics including UAE heritage and history, youth and university, novels, poetry , environment and climate studies, in addition to books on humanities. Writers are aged between 20 and 70, covering all generations of UAE innovators and authors.
