يُعدّ المثعاب من أدوات الطبخ التقليدية، وهو مغرفة مدبّبة ذات فوهة تشبه المنقار، تُصنع من الخشب أو المعدن، وقد ارتبط استخدامه بالعمليات اليومية لتحضير الطعام في البيوت القديمة. ويُستخدم بشكل أساسي في سكب وإضافة السمن الساخن أو المرق على الأرز والأطباق الأخرى أثناء الطهي أو التقديم. ويعكس تصميم المثعاب وظيفته العملية في التحكم بعملية الصب بدقة وسهولة وخاصة للسوائل .
