الخرّاز

المشغولات الجلدية من الحرف التقليدية المهمة في الإمارات، حيث كان الجلد يُستخرج من الإبل أو الماعز بعد الدباغة ويُستخدم في صناعة أدوات متعددة. كان الحرفيون الخرازون يصنعون منه القِرَب لحفظ الماء، النعال ( الشمّار ) هوصانع النعل، الأحزمة، الجراب لحفظ النقود أو البنادق، وأغلفة الخناجر والسيوف. تمر العملية بعدة مراحل: تنظيف الجلد، دباغته باستخدام مواد طبيعية مثل نبات السدر أو قشور الرمان و الملح و ثمار القرط، ثم تقطيعه وخياطته بخيوط قوية. المشغولات الجلدية كانت متينة وتدوم سنوات طويلة، مما جعلها جزءاً أساسياً من حياة البدو في الصحراء. مكانة هذه الحرفة كبيرة لأنها وفّرت أدوات ضرورية للحياة اليومية. أدواتها: السكاكين، الإبرة الكبيرة، الخيوط المصنوعة من أوتار الحيوانات أو القطن.

Geographical or Cultural Specificity: The element is characterized by its association with a specific geographic area or cultural group within the country, giving it a unique identity that distinguishes it from other practices. This element represents part of the social and cultural history of the community, enhancing its value as a distinctive component of local or national identity.

Continuity and Intergenerational Transmission: The element is passed from one generation to the next, either orally through stories, songs, and narratives, or practically through training and hands-on practice. This living process ensures the element’s survival and development over time, while maintaining its connection to its cultural roots.

“Cultural diversity” refers to the variety of forms of cultural expression within a single society, such as the presence of different heritage practices across the Emirates, whether rooted in Bedouin, urban, or maritime traditions. This diversity is a source of strength and richness, and is celebrated within the country’s vision of cultural pluralism.

Local Artistic or Technical Creativity: The element embodies creativity that originated from the local environment, whether in the materials used, methods of performance, or design patterns. This creativity may have developed collectively, reflecting how people interact with their surroundings and respond to their needs in an innovative way that expresses collective intelligence.
