سفة

يُعدّ السَّفّ من أدوات المائدة التقليدية في الإمارات العربية المتحدة، وهو طبق دائري كبير يُصنع من سعف النخيل، وقد استخدمته المرأة قديماً في أعمال تجهيز الطعام وتنظيف الحبوب. ويُستعمل في تقليب الأرز ورفعه وخفضه أثناء عملية تنقيته، حيث يتم دفعه وتحريكه مع النفخ عليه لإزالة القشور والعوالق، مما يساعد على الحصول على حبوب نظيفة صالحة للطهو.كما كان السَّفّ يُستخدم كصينية لتقديم الطعام، حيث يُوضع فيه الأرز والأطعمة المختلفة عند تقديمها للضيوف، خصوصًا في فطور الصباح. ويعكس هذا الوعاء بساطة أدوات المائدة في الحياة التقليدية وارتباطها بالمواد الطبيعية المتوفرة، إضافة إلى دوره في إبراز قيم الكرم والضيافة في المجتمع الإماراتي القديم.

This element represents part of the social and cultural history of the community, enhancing its value as a distinctive component of local or national identity.

Preserving the Element within the Living Community Context: The element derives its value from being actively practiced in people’s daily lives or within their rituals and social occasions. Preserving the element does not mean freezing it in time, but rather supporting it to continue in its original environment, while respecting its natural evolution within the community context.
