الجام في التراث الإماراتي هو اسم يُطلق محليًا على المربى، وهوالكلمة المأخوذة من "Jam" الإنجليزية وفي بعض الأحيان كان يطلق عليه مربع، لكنها اكتسبت معنى ثقافيًا خاصًا في الإمارات، ، وهو منتج غذائي يُحضّر منزليًا من ثمرة شجرة الاترنج او المركبي التى تنمو في الامارات ، وهو عباره عن الجزء الأبيض الذي يلي القشرة الخارجية للثمرة ويطلق عليه محلياً (شحامة أو الشحم) حيث يطبخ مع السكر والماء حتى يتحوّل إلى قوام كثيف يُمكن حفظه لأشهر طويلة. يحمل تحضير الجام طابعًا موسميًا واجتماعيًا؛ حيث كانت النساء يُجهزن المربى في موسمها.
