الغيص (الغواص)

هو العامل الأساسي في مهنة الغوص على اللؤلؤ قديماً. كان ينزل إلى أعماق البحر بحثاً عن اللؤلؤ. الغيص يعتمد على قوته وصبره، لأنه ينزل مرات كثيرة في اليوم مستخدماً "الزيبل" (حبل مربوط في رجله) و"الفطام / فطام الغوص" (مشبك الأنف) ليساعده على حبس أنفاسه. كل غوصة تستغرق دقيقة أو دقيقتين، ثم يعود ليعطي المحار للسيب الذي يسحبه بسرعة. الغيص يواجه أخطاراً كثيرة مثل الغرق، هجوم الأسماك الكبيرة مثل الجراجير و الحيتان، أو نزيف الأذن بسبب ضغط الماء. رغم هذه المخاطر، كانت مهنته أساس رزق أهل الإمارات قبل النفط. الغيص يحتاج إلى تدريب طويل منذ صغره ليقوى صدره على حبس النفس ويتعلم السيطرة على جسده في البحر. مكانته محترمة في المجتمع لأنه رمز للشجاعة والتضحية. الغيص يمثل صورة واضحة لعلاقة الإماراتي بالبحر، حيث كان البحر مصدر رزقه وسبب تعبه في الوقت ذلك قبل ما يدخل مرحلة الغيض يسمى تباباََ أي ( بداية مرحلة التدريب والتعلم )

This living process ensures the element’s survival and development over time, while maintaining its connection to its cultural roots.
