
The Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development announced that it will organize an exhibition displaying works by talents participating in the visual arts workshops at the end of Cultural Summer program, in response to the recommendations by the visual arts talent selection committee in its final report. Accordingly, the Higher Committee organizing the program directed all the cultural centers to select the best artistic works by students participating in the program. “The ministry received a comprehensive report from the talent selection committee with a full list of the names of talented students and a number of recommendations regarding their strengths and weaknesses, after visiting all the centers over the course of three weeks. In the report, the committee praised the various talents they witnessed in different visual arts fields. This confirms that the program succeeded in attracting numerous talents worthy of care, and also managed to win the trust of parents in its first session. The committee, in its report, also recommended the establishment of an exhibition to encourage these talented students and bring their works into light. ”, commented Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Director of the Government Communication Department at the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development. “Discovering, embracing and supporting talents in different cultural and artistic fields, such as painting, literature, theater and music, comes at the top of the ministry's priorities, which explains the Ministry’s launch of the National Program "Cultural Summer", noted Al Nuami. He added “The ministry is waiting for the final reports and recommendations from each committee in the fields of theater, music and literature, to take new steps in supporting the talents and developing their skills and creativity.” Cultural Summer with a traditional Emirati touch On the other hand, Umm Al Quwain Cultural Center organized a traditional Emirati day for students participating in the program. This included traditional art shows and dances such as Al Yollah, Al Razif and Al Ayala, performed by the students participating in the music workshop. In addition to introducing students to traditional proverbs, Al Senaa workshop, emirati national attire, old emirati words and traditional food. Students were also briefed on traditional crafts and industries with the help of a short movie which discussed the most important professions and industries such as diving, wood and clay industries. Social media lecture in Masafi cultural center Masafi Culture Center organized a lecture about social media websites by Muayad Hosni. The lecture started with a detailed explanation about social media websites, its types and the most influential ones on the family and society. The pros and cons of some social media websites were then discussed such as Facebook, Twitter, Snap Chat, in addition to displaying a documentary film for Ahmed Al Shuqairi about the dangers of social media.
