The present fort was built from stone, mud bricks, and mortar on the remains of the old fortress. It was carefully restored in the 1990s and can now be accessed via constructed stairways. The small fortress comprises two facing towers with a small courtyard between them, enclosed by a wall. Dhayah Fort was used as a short-range defensive stronghold during attacks on the oasis.
